About the Position
Part of the role of the City of Stirling’s Engineering Services team is to design the infrastructure that enables a high quality of urban life and accessibility across the City. Our Engineering Services team is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Senior Engineering Technical Officer to join the team. This vacant role is responsible for supporting the Design Engineer-Engineering Services in providing a comprehensive engineering planning and design service, particularly in relation to road, traffic, rights of way and drainage improvement projects and the assessment of subdivision development design submissions.
About You
Our successful candidate will use their critical thinking skills and knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks and standards to investigate, analyse and design assigned engineering capital works projects including preparation and issue of construction plans for road, drainage, right of way and traffic safety improvement designs and all associated documentation necessary for implementation of the works. To succeed in this role, you will have good computing skills with experience in using computer assisted design and drafting applications such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and XP Storm or similar hydraulic/hydrologic CAD software.
This role also requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will develop and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and respond to enquiries in both verbal and in written formats.
In addition, to be considered for this role, you’ll ideally possess the following skills and/or qualifications:
- Advanced diploma qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Advanced skills and practical experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and XP Storm or similar hydraulic/hydrologic CAD software.
- Knowledge of relevant sections of the Local Government Act and technical standards applying to engineering planning and design works.
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant Senior Engineering design experience.

This permanent full time position is a Level 8 Inside Workforce Agreement position attracts a salary range of $103,131– $108,559 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
