The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality customer focused and professional Environmental Health, public health, and protection of environment services. We will trust you to bring:Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or related disciplineEnvironmental health and public health experienceKnowledge of relevant ActsStrong communication skillsNegotiation and problem-solving skillsReport writing skillsExcellent customer serviceClass C Drivers Licence Things you will do:Undertake inspections of premises and implement Council’s inspection programs for registered food premises and vendors, and other health-related premises or activitiesInvestigate, assess and determine Environmental Health, public health customer requestsAssess and determine development applications and other local government applicationsEffectively implement regulatory environmental and public health programs and services.Issue notices, orders, directions and penalty infringements and undertake enforcement responsibilitiesPreparation of reports, information and documentationRepresent Council on various internal and external committees, working groups and organisationsAppear as an expert witness in the Land and Environment Court and Local Court and preparation of statements of evidence Further information:View the Position Description online or contact Oscar Guillen, Coordinator Environmental Health, on 02 9093 6949.
