About the role
This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm position working 35 hours per week. This position is located at the Ulladulla Administration Building.
The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.
Duties
Reporting directly to the Lead – Environmental Health, the focus of this position is to:
- Coordinates a small team within Council to enable Council to function at an optimal level.
- Model leadership behaviours that align with Council’s Core Values and contributes to a culture where staff and stakeholders have confidence in the way the organisation is lead and services are delivered.
- Reports to the Lead - Environmental Health on areas of functional responsibility making professional recommendations and appropriate options analysis for consideration.
- Establishes objectives, timeframes and milestones for the team that support the Community Strategic Plan and aligns operational activities accordingly.
- Identifies cost savings and opportunities for strategic investment from the approved budget.
- Provides management reports that tailors technical information to be comprehensible by the target audience.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in science (Environmental Health)/Environmental Science or equivalent
- A minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in local government or relevant discipline in the field of Environmental Health or equivalent.
- Current SafeWork NSW Construction Induction Certificate (Whitecard)
- Current Class C Driver’s License
