Primary purpose of the role:
- Lead reporting on climate-change related content for the Annual Report including compiling information on the NSW Government agency's progress against climate-change actions and the climate change financial disclosure.
- Lead and write the sections of the NSW State of the Environment Report related to reporting on the impacts of climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and the implementation and effectiveness of the NSW Net Zero Plan.
Deliverables of the role:
• Lead and coordinate the preparation of environmental reporting relating to climate change impacts, greenhouse gas emissions, carbon neutral policies and NSW Net Zero in accordance with project plans and deadlines. The role coordinates content from other specialist sources. It does not require additional research or advanced technical analysis or writing, but an understanding of greenhouse gas emissions, climate change impacts, and the NSW Net Zero Plan will be an advantage.
• Establish networks and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with key contacts internal and external to the NSW Government agency's to enhance the effectiveness of data compilation and information gathering, and the responsiveness of requests for drafts or reviews of report content for policy development or environment reporting purposes.
• Coordinate content to meet statutory and other reporting requirements for the Annual Report report, climate risk reporting and State of the Environment Report.
• Draft complex correspondence, briefings and reports for the Unit Manager, Executive Director, DECCW Executive, the Board and Minister in final form for approval, on issues relating to environmental assessment and reporting.
• Identify emerging issues of concern to the NSW Government agency's which affect the state of the environment or annual report and recommend solutions, taking account of the wide range of views and the complex legal, economic and social factors affecting such issues.

• Exercises independence in managing projects and allocating resources within agreed parameters and undertakes a diverse range of complex policy and project tasks, often within tight deadlines and an environment of frequently changing priorities.
Requirements for the role/Essential Skills and Experience:
• You will be a Senior officer leading the reporting onclimate-change related content, you must have previous experience in delivering this previously to be considered for this position and be able to hit the ground running.
• Strong ability to analyze data and adapt reporting frameworks.
• Demonstrated sound understanding of contemporary environmental issues and challenges, and the principles and practices of natural resource management, environment protection and sustainability.
• Extensive experience in the development and use of environmental indicators and information frameworks for evaluating environmental performance and reporting on outcomes and trends.
• Proven ability in managing projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication abilities for report drafting, presentation and stakeholder management, both written and verbal.
