About the role
Our Senior Environmental Planning Officer role offers the opportunity to be part of a diverse and inclusive work-family that engages with a wide range of business areas across our organisation. Working within the Health, Climate and Conservation branch you will be part of the team who develops, delivers, and influences environmental strategies and policies to drive on-ground environmental outcomes, nature repair initiatives, and natural capital projects across our amazing city!
Elements of the role include:
- Developing and implementing innovative environmental strategies and policies to support conservation of our natural environment, often in collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders;
- Coordinating and preparing submissions and amendments in relation to our planning scheme, environmental legislation and environmental policy, integrating a range of social, environmental and political factors;
- Responding to complex customer service requests relating to Environmental Planning, policies and strategies;
- Mentoring, managing workloads and providing technical support to other staff to address challenging, complex or difficult issues; and
- Influencing and engaging internal and external stakeholders to deliver Environmental Planning, natural environment and sustainability projects.
Desired qualifications knowledge and skills of the role include:
- Degree in Environmental Planning, management, science or similar, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in Environmental Planning, strategic thinking and environmental policy development.

- $94,518.07/year + Super (Stream A, Level 6)
