The TeamOur Earth Observation team is high-performing and innovative, with an incredibly friendly and collaborative culture. We are made up of Environmental Scientists, remote sensing analysts, GIS Analysts, data scientists and statisticians, and work on local and international projects across the resources, infrastructure, utility, conservation and public sectors. Our team delivers innovative products and analyses complementary to the diverse range of ecological and environmental data acquired through remote sensing from ground, aerial or space-based sensors. We have an active R&D program, and are at the forefront of recent developments in ecological survey and monitoring, remote sensing (terrestrial / coastal / water) and modelling.
The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our professional team. In this full-time role you will apply your knowledge and problem-solving skills to complete environmental monitoring projects and studies that involve on-ground and remotely sensed data. The ability to go on field trips is not a requirement, but for those candidates who can, it would constitute a valuable part of the role. You will collate and analyse data collected by field teams in collaboration with data scientists, remote sensing analysts and other Environmental Scientists, and write reports to a high standard.
To be considered for this role, you must meet these essential criteria to be considered:
- A degree in environmental science, ecology or similar field
- Five years or more experience (less may be acceptable for applicants with relevant post-graduate qualifications)
It would be advantageous if you also met any of these desirable criteria:
- Experience with Western Australian bioregions
- Experience mentoring/leading others
- Prior field experience in a professional context
- Well-developed English writing skills
- Exposure to spatial data and/or GIS systems
- Consulting experience
- An Australian manual C-class driver license
- 4WD certification
- Apply First Aid Certificate
