Our client is a SA Government Agency who seeks a Senior Estimator with significant experience providing cost estimating, cost analysis, cost modelling and benchmarking services.
The Ideal Candidate:
We require a Senior Estimator with a strong background in Estimating, 1st principal, which includes drawing and breakdown estimate costs between man, machine, plant etc. You will ideally have a background in the construction industry as well as experience with the pipeline side.
You will bring strong communications skills, stakeholder engagement/management abilities and prior experience mentoring a team.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Implement and lead a collaborative approach to continuous improvement in estimation, analysis and bench marking to support the delivery of Asset Operations and Delivery business objectives.
- Preparation of cost estimates for capital work programs and projects, that will be used to inform early planning investment decisions.
- Facilitation and preparation of Opportunity and Risk cost impact analysis for inclusion in the estimate
- Work closely with framework contractors to develop Tender estimates and reporting structures that transpose into control budgets
- Communicate readily and often with team members and stakeholders, preferably verbally, speaking openly and honestly.
- Continually explore opportunities to simplify work for self and others.
- Lead and mentor more junior estimating personnel.
- Educate and advise the business on best practice for continual improvement in Cost Intelligence.
- Develop goals for continual growth and self-improvement in accordance with PADP process
The Successful Candidate will have the following essential experience:
- A Technicians certificate or Engineering qualification or equivalent/Associate Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in estimating and analysis of actual costs
- Ability to interpret general engineering drawings
- An understanding of cost management and the use of financial management systems to extract cost information
- Experience in the use of estimating computer system software in particular spreadsheets, databases and Opportunity and Risk based estimating
- Sound understanding of differing contracting types used by SA Water
Job Details:
- Location: Adelaide CBD. WFH options - minimum 3 days in office
- 12 month contract
- Hourly Rate: $63.59 to $70.26 per hour depending on experience
