WHAT'S ON OFFER
This head contractor is looking for a Senior Estimator to work on a number of upcoming tenders for repeat and new clients. Projects are typically priced from $50m - $150m and will be in a multiple of sectors. This client has one of the better Estimating departments in the Sydney construction market and have a great culture throughout the business. The role would also suit someone looking to make a step into a Senior Estimator position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of initial estimating assessment of tenders
- Perform trade break ups of documentation, appropriate trade subcontractor selection lists. Liaise with subcontractors to ensure they have a full understanding of the required scope of works and programme
- Liaise with the construction teams to finalise tender submission price prior to issue
- Final preparation and presentation of rated and coded Bill of Quantities and / or cost plan for internal review and issuing appropriate information to stakeholders
- Comparison and analysis of subcontractor pricing
- Regular meetings with subcontractors throughout the tender period to ensure the most competitive pricing and accurate bids
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 7-10 years LOCAL experience Estimating in construction for a principal contractor in a multiples of disciplines
- Experience across the spectrum of tendering formats (competitive lump sum through to cost planning and negotiated design and construct projects)
- Able to produce cost plans / budget estimates with limited information
- High level computer skills and numeracy including the following programs: Buildsoft or equivalent, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Word
