About the Role
As a Senior Events Officer, you'll be at the helm of event planning and organisation, shaping our presence in industry summits, conferences, workshops, seminars, and forums. Your expertise in event management will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our diverse range of events.
- Advocate for best practice accessibility at events to ensure equal participation for all attendees.
- Take charge of planning and organising events, including identifying objectives, creating timelines, and coordinating logistics such as venues, catering, and audio-visual requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align event objectives with organisational goals.
- Develop project plans, monitor progress, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor event budgets, track expenditure, and seek opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Engage with external suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to secure necessary resources and services.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with events, develop contingency plans, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Evaluate event success, gather feedback, and prepare comprehensive reports for future improvement.
About you
To thrive in this role, you need:
- Positive attitudes towards people with disabilities and a strong understanding of disability issues.
- Experience in event coordination, preferably within a large organisation.
- Proficiency in managing virtual and hybrid events.
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple events under tight deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Budget management experience.
- Strong critical thinking skills and adaptability.
- Attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
