Your Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing and Communications team to assist in the management, development and delivery of Council Civic and Community events. In addition to this, as the Senior Events Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games, ensuring the highest standards for Cairns Regional Council and the best outcomes for all stakeholder groups and upholding the reputation of Council and Mayor’s office.
The ideal candidate has:
- Substantial experience as an event manager with experience in large scale events and a focus on community engagement.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills in dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent understanding of the complex nature of event organisation, and a strong network of contacts across a broad range of industries.
- Proven public speaking skills and an ability to act as host at functions.
