Senior Executive Officer, Basic Training Accreditation

About the Role

The purpose of the Senior Executive Officer, Basic Training is to lead staff within the Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand Basic Training - Training Accreditation Services team in the planning and delivery of advice, support and information to Divisional Basic Trainees, DPE’s and supervisors and training provider/Settings, including the management and support of Basic Training and accreditation committees. You will also collaborate with the internal and external stakeholders on policies and projects for which Basic Training and Training Provider Accreditation is business owner or key stakeholder.

Key Accountabilities

• Overseeing the day to day operations of the Australia& Aotearoa New Zealand Basic Training - Training Accreditation Services unit
• Plan and manage the work of the unit and its relationships to ensure a high standard of advice and service delivery to Basic Trainees, supervisors, accredited training sites, Fellows and College education, training & accreditation committees
• Lead and manage the team to ensure efficient and effective team and individual performance (including recruitment, performance management, professional development)
• Manage the unit resources and budget in consultation with the TAS Program Lead & TAS Manager
• To provide high-level expert advice on educational policies in consultation with the Manager Training Operations.
• To collaborate and participate in Education Policy development and key projects, to advise on aspects of design and implementation, specifically the Education Renewal and the Training Provider Accreditation Review

Essential Attributes

• Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with external and internal stakeholders, particularly with committees
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills with experience leading a team to deliver outcomes in a complex environment and with tight time frames
• High level written and oral communication skills, including reports and briefs, policy/process documentation, and presentations
• Proven experience in problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to demonstrate resilience in a changing environment
• Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines in a high workload area
• Ability to work flexibly and demonstrate initiative
• Proficiency in the use of MSOffice, email, internet and the use of databases
