About the opportunity
Corstorphine teaching and research farm are seeking an enthusiastic casual staff member to join our team at Camden. Initially part time hours with view of full time hours for the right candidate.
This role performs tasks as directed by the Dairy Manager and Leading Hand at the Corstorphine Dairy. The tasks relate to the day-to-day operation of the farm for commercial, research and teaching activities of the University of Sydney.
The job holder will need to be available for weekend, early morning and public holiday work.

Your key responsibilities
Tractor, implement, and machinery operation for silage and fodder production and improvement.
Maintenance of farm equipment including basic repairs to farm machinery
Hands on knowledge of rural fencing
Committed to maintaining a clean and safe workspace for staff, students, visitors and animals
Driving / Transport of animals / produce / feed
hazard identification and reporting
Other duties consistent with the classification as required by the supervisor
About you
Ability and experience in maintaining farm equipment including basic mechanical repairs.
Livestock experience. Preferably dairy related i.e.. milking cows (preferred)
full driver license with experience in tractor operation, including front-end loader, mixer wagon etc
Ability to prioritise tasks; be reliable and maintain work / life balance
Availability for early starts (4am), weekend work and willingness for potential split shifts
Basic computer skills
Demonstrated understanding of WHS for farming
Good verbal skills
Knowledge and ability to safely apply agricultural chemicals with chemical accreditation (Chem Cert.)
Knowledgeable about livestock disease and injury treatment and calving
Experience with electric fencing
Experience with heat detection and artificial insemination (desirable)
