Senior Finance Analyst

MAYDAY Recruitment are excited to be partnering with a leading Australian organisation who are searching for a standout Senior Finance Analyst. The primary objective of this role is to facilitate delivery of financial data analysis across the divisions with a key focus on establishing project costing, tracking and reporting processes and improving general financial reporting to the divisions through dashboards.

The role:

• Work with the Data and Technology team, develop systems and processes to manage and track projects on the technology investment roadmap. This includes employee time capture and allocation methodology and tracking project progress
• Support preparation of business cases for projects on the technology investment roadmap in conjunction with Project owners
• Project controlling and forecasting – analysis of actuals including risks and opportunities, reasons for variations and recommendations of corrective actions/ preparation of current forecasts
• Work with Divisions and Finance team to improve overall financial reporting to Divisions and Cost Centres, with a particular focus on PowerBI Dashboard
• Preparation and critical review of operating and capital forecasts as it relates to project funding in compliance with the overall budget
• Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment

The ideal candidate:

• Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting/ Finance/Commerce or related disciplines
• Previous experience in a similar Senior Business Analyst or Management Accountant role
• Experience working with Dynamics 365
• Demonstrated experience in delivering financial and commercial information and concepts to non financial stakeholders
• Strong investigative, analytical, software and system skills, including Excel, PowerBI and integrated ERP systems
• Experience within implementing process to manage projects, with a particular focus on cost tracking, allocation and reporting
• Demonstrated expertise in financial data analysis and finance data management including data sourcing, statistical modelling and analysing variances
