About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to become an integral part of our Head Office team in Canberra.
You will play a pivotal role in managing our finance function, ensuring operational excellence and contributing to our company's success.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring effective financial control, accurate and timely reporting and valuable decision support to achieve the business's financial and operational goals.
You will lead the small ACT-based financial accounting team, providing an opportunity to utilise your leadership experience in developing a high-performing team.
This is an exciting opportunity requiring a hands-on finance professional with a breadth of knowledge across all of the traditional aspects of Finance and Accounting and the commercial acumen to deliver business growth activities.
This includes month-end responsibilities, reconciliations, assistance in the management of business insurances, monthly and annual financial reporting and preparation of half-year and annual documentation for external audit.
Duties
- Manage the multi-national, consolidated financial reporting for the group, including monthly financial reporting and all statutory financial reporting within tight deadlines.
- Ownership of multi-national monthly management reporting, including analysis of actuals, variances, risks and opportunities.
- Preparation of half-year and year-end reporting, workpapers and reconciliations and ad-hoc analytics, reports and requests for informed decision making.
- Provide analysis to support unit pricing, margin, transfer pricing and inventory costing.
- Financial reporting ownership in ERP finance systems.
- Actively manage and improve key monthly processes across the global group, to deliver a high standard of hygiene and high quality consolidated financial data.
- Inventory management, stocktake oversight and inventory obsolescence review.
- Manage taxation function including liaison with outsourced service providers.

About You
The Senior Finance Manager will be highly organised, energetic, professional and commercially focused. We are looking for an individual, who is highly motivated, enjoys autonomy and can participate in organisational development and change as the business evolves.
The role requires strong leadership and the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Experience
- Strong capability in financial management, including knowledge of AASB standards, tax compliance requirements, inventory control and management, robust governance frameworks and cost control.
- In-depth understanding of inventory-based business practices.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing finance functions and teams.
- Experience in leading change, improving processes and implementing new technology.
- Experience working in multiple-country, multiple-entity accounting environment desirable.
- Experience in meeting statutory reporting deadlines and requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience in, or the ability to quickly learn, the EPICOR ERP system desirable.
- Manufacturing industry experience is highly regarded but not essential.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- CA/CPA qualified.
