The opportunity
Group Finance is responsible for the Accounting and Reporting deliverables including Business Performance, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Control and Statutory Reporting. Within the Financial Control and Statutory Reporting team, resides ownership of the general ledger including core accounting functions, financial control governance and supporting systems and processes and statutory reporting.
This role is to provide knowledge of Business processes and Financial Control and Statutory Reporting support to the Bank and Treasury controlled entities of AMP. The primary focus of the role is to provide accounting advice and manage the general ledger, reporting and analysis for these entities.
How you'll make an impact
  • Provision of accurate and timely closure of books and records at month-end and timely delivery of all reporting requirements for month-end and other key reporting periods
  • Manage operational accounting processes to ensure the daily integrity and governance of the ledger for reporting and analytical requirements
  • Perform/review of reconciliations to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and adequate internal controls to ensure the integrity of balances are in place
  • Manage and liaise on issues resolution with TCS (offshore partner) and other stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of accurate and timely completion of year-end processes including Group reporting packages, financial statements for AMP Bank, Progress Trust vehicles and the Bank's subsidiaries
  • Serve as the subject matter expert to address accounting and reporting requirements under AASB and IFRS associated with new business transactions
What you will bring to the team
  • Fully Qualified CA / CPA
  • Solid working knowledge of AASB and IFRS accounting standards
  • Ideally at least 5 years' experience in a similar role with experience of Finance processes in a larger, organisation
  • Working knowledge of financial products (such as derivatives, fixed income products) and product systems is highly regarded
  • Outstanding analytical and fact-finding skills and the ability to follow issues through to resolution
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Communication skills (both written and Oral)
  • Good influencing skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
