About the department The Tax and Accounting department is a part of Oceania Finance at Novo Nordisk. We are in charge of conducting the financial and accounting operations of the organization in the Oceania region. Our team ensures compliance with tax regulations, prepares financial reports, manages cost accounting systems, and controls treasury. We work closely with other departments to assist business goals and maintain regulatory standards. The position As a Senior Financial Accountant at Novo Nordisk, you will deliver high quality Financial, Tax and Management submissions to internal and external stakeholders. Your role will involve ensuring that Novo Nordisk Australia (AU) and New Zealand (NZ) reporting complies with the stipulated policies, guidelines, and procedures, as set out in the Novo Nordisk Quality System, Company Guidelines and Policies, Novo Nordisk AktieSelskab (NNAS) fiscal policies and all relevant Australasian legislation.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting according to Novo Nordisk AktieSelskab (NNAS) requirements and deadlines. Prepare statutory and tax reports in compliance with Australian (AU) and New Zealand (NZ) legislation.
- Drive monthly Minimum Controls according to NNAS Internal Control Questionnaire (ICQ) and assist in preparing Transfer Pricing (TP) questionnaires and documentation for NZ.
- Review sales and stock reconciliation, along with customer aging reports (4PL Logistics), and reconcile payments for rebates to Pharmac.
- Manage accounting processes for Record to Report activities, encompassing month-end close, consolidation, and external reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal controls over financial reporting, including Sarbanes-Oxley and the Minimum Controls framework.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with external auditors while collaborating with key stakeholders of the business as a trusted business partner.
Qualifications
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualified.
- Demonstrated successful track record in a similar role with a solid understanding of NZ International Financial Reporting Standards and tax legislations and rulings.
- Experience in business reporting with proficiency in SAP FI, CO, and BW modules is desirable.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills alongside fluent English communication skills.
- Australian Citizenship or a current visa to live and work in Australia valid for at least 9 months.
