Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant, Capital and Asset Accounting who will be part of the Capital, Maintenance and Asset Accounting Team that will provide support to the Manager, Financial Accounting.

- Prepare and analyse monthly capital project reports, reconciliations, briefing notes, and presentations on a range of complex asset and capital management and budget issues, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Contribute towards the development and review of capital management policies and procedures that will assist the agency meet its obligations established under the Government’s financial management framework – legislation, guidelines and standards.
- Provide accurate, professional and timely advice to Business Groups on asset policies for Capital Work-in-Progress, and associated acquisitions based on a good working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Treasury Financial Reporting Requirements, Non-Current Asset Policies and other relevant policies.
- Ensure that the agency’s annual capital budget and budget revisions are accurately reflected in the Queensland Treasury Budget Papers, Tridata and internal records.
- Maintain and develop constructive, collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders including senior management, Queensland Treasury and external service providers.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop and maintain effective internal controls over capital processed and asset accounting.
- Possess ability to communicate capital and asset related financial information effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and auditors.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and industry best practices related to capital asset accounting.
- Support the Manager Capital, Maintenance and Asset Accounting as directed.
- CPA Certification or other relevant professional certification.
