About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team based at Flinders Street, Adelaide, reporting to the Accounting Manager.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be the go-to-person for financial accounting queries by internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as a 2IC to the Accounting Manager - Financial Accounting
• Managing and reviewing lease accounting processes and contracts
• Prepare and present on annual statutory accounts to Statutory Directors & Officers
• Managing external audit requests and end-to-end planning for timely lodgement
• Preparation of technical accounting positions for review internally and by external auditors
• Plan and conduct annual training for area to all applicable Finance staff and other functions as required
• Provide guidance to the junior team members

About YOU

You will have:

• Demonstrated Experience in Financial Accounting and audits
• Degree qualification in relevant field and a CA or CPA qualification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to take ownership of task and embrace change
• Strong stakeholder management skills with high level of personal integrity, initiative and motivation
• Experience leading a group of professional staff to ensure they provide a quality service that meets specified accounting and reporting requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
