To enhance the performance of Adairs through the pro-active management of the finance function via timely and relevant reporting to all levels of the business, review of business processes and management of external stakeholder relationships.
How you will spend your day:
- Ensure accurate completion of assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules (Aus and NZ).
- Ensure preparation and distribution of monthly departmental cost reports including analysis on spend against budget and identify cost saving initiatives
- Prepare consolidated P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statement for the Adairs Brand
- Assist with the completion of month-end reports to be presented to the Board and Management team
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting
- Assist with the bi-annual statutory accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Liaise with external auditors to enable the completion of audit procedures, testing and queries
- Manage the weekly cash flow reporting and forward forecasting of business cash flow and foreign currency hedging requirements.
- Ensure foreign currency management remains compliant with Adairs policy
- Management of the credit card and expense reimbursement process
- Management of Accounts Payable function, ensuring PO receipting, vendor invoices and payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of the accounts payable functions
- Review of all indirect taxes (Aus and NZ), ensuring all deadlines are met
- Preparation of tax-effect accounting journals and tax return schedules
- Liaise with Payroll team and post all payroll related journals
- CA/CPA Qualification
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Previous leadership experience
- Effective time management and achievement of deadlines
- Exposure to Foreign Currency
- Advanced excel skills
- Experience and understanding of relevant accounting standards
- Previous Retail or FMCG experience is desirable
- Results driven
