Senior Financial Accountant

TP Human Capital has partnered with the largest healthcare provider and the largest tertiary hospital in Northern Australia! We’re looking for a motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our client’s team. In this role, you’ll lead the development and implementation of a thorough financial management assurance program, crucial for safeguarding the organization’s financial health.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation and execution of the annual statutory reporting calendar and processes.
• Prepare and consolidate financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and other relevant frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather and analyse financial data.
• Address and resolve accounting complexities related to statutory reporting.
• Conduct research and analysis to support senior management's financial decision-making.
• Maintain robust internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement a strategic financial assurance program, identifying vulnerabilities and creating a comprehensive testing framework.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by streamlining control frameworks and optimizing financial processes for efficiency.
• Lead the adoption of new financial systems, practices, and policies through effective change management strategies.
• Negotiate solutions to complex financial challenges, leveraging your communication and influence skills for optimal outcomes.
• Oversee the annual fraud and corruption control review, ensuring compliance with governance, risk, and assurance activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business; professional accounting registration preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in financial management principles and internal control frameworks.
• Experience in project management.

In This Role, You Will:

• Serve as a technical authority, developing and implementing financial policies and guidelines, and providing expert advice on financial regulations.
• Act as the main liaison between external auditors and the finance team during audits, ensuring efficient information exchange.
• Analyse financial data and performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
