About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Portfolio Budgets team within the Corporate Finance Department. In this role, you will perform a variety of intricate financial analyses, strategic project planning, and execute Portfolio-wide financial enhancements to support Cabinet Submissions, strategic policies, and business cases. You will provide expert guidance and compile reports aligned with Government Reporting Frameworks, encompassing Portfolio bilateral budget details, Portfolio Statements, and financial briefing notes for the yearly Parliamentary Estimates and Budget and Finance Parliamentary committees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead intricate financial analyses and strategic project planning efforts.
- Execute portfolio-wide financial improvements to enhance financial performance.
- Craft expert advice and produce reports compliant with Government Reporting Frameworks.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Contribute to annual Parliamentary Estimates and Budget and Finance Parliamentary committees.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and safety standards.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, economics, or related financial management field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and abilities to motivate and inspire others.
- An ability to manage to the spirit and principles of the Premier’s safety Commitment and the legislative requirements of the Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Act, utilising AS/NZS 4360 Risk Management, or to an equivalent set of standards.
- Demonstrated experience in the strategic management of financial resources and undertaking complex and high-level financial research and analysis.
- Experience in the effective development, implementation and management of forecasts in a large complex organisation within a framework of critical corporate objectives.
