Your new company
I am looking for a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join a large public sector organisation for a 6-month placement.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of property, plant and equipment for the organisation and its subsidiaries. Develop and analyse monthly financial reporting and provide support and advice to business units to ensure compliance with finance and asset-related policies.
You will be responsible for the following
- Responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of property, plant and equipment in Statutory and Management Reports, ensuring internal and external reporting requirements are met.
- Provide expert advice and support across business units regarding assets including capitalisation, ensuring compliance with policies, processes and Accounting Standards to provide a sound asset management framework for the Corporation.
- Co-ordinate annual valuations to ensure property, plant and equipment reflects fair value.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating accounting policies in relation to asset and capitalisation.
- Carry out duties in accordance with the organisation's safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking complex financial reporting including the interpretation and application of Australian Accounting Standards
- Experience in providing expert advice regarding asset management, including capitalisation and developing and reviewing related policies and procedures.
- Proven experience in the coordination and management of annual valuations ensuring assets reflect fair value.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with the operational line of business and communicate complex accounting theory to non-accountants.
