The opportunity:

We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced Geospatial professionals to join our team.

The Coastal Information team’s work involves a broad range of geospatial functions in Geographic Information Systems and Cartography.  These include bathymetric data and metadata management, and hydrographic data processing. Geospatial and design skills for chart production and workflows to produce spatial and graphic products. Building online maps, configure and support geospatial applications, setup webservices and data modelling, as well as IT and geospatial tasks to manage the GIS enterprise architecture and data governance.

We use a many applications and specialised software, however experience in using the ESRI’s suite of GIS Software and working with GIS web services and data will be useful.

Some applications include: Esri Portal, Esri Maritime webserver, ArcGIS Server, Oracle Spatial Database, ArcGIS bathymetry, spatial, network and 3d analyst, FME workbench and FME Server, GeoCortex, Python, Bentley Microstation, Hexagon Imagine photogrammetry, ER Mapper, Hydrographic QPS Quinsy, Qimera, Fledermaus. 

You’ll be part of the Coastal Information Team. We love what we do, get along well and work collaboratively to deliver various services which cover geospatial information systems, data collection, processing and management, oceanography, hydrographic surveying, and cartographic design.

  • Has skills managing, developing, and supplying geospatial products, systems, and services.
  • Has experience in data management and delivery, data processing, and ability to do spatial data analysis.
  • Can proactively research, investigate and resolve problems or implement solutions.
  • Can look outside the box and think into the future for the needs of the spatial community as we advance into the oceans in a way that has not been done before.

Whilst new appointments may commence on a fixed term basis, there may be the possibility of extension and/or permanency in the future.
