About the Role:

We are continually looking for enthusiastic and talented people to join our team.

Our Perth office is currently seeking Senior Geotechnical/Tailings Engineers on a (permanent full-time) basis.

You will work with our well experienced Civil, Geotechnical and Tailings groups to deliver projects successfully to meeting our clients’ needs. At ATC Williams, every role is supported by professionals across the business, and you will have peers, subordinates, and technical experts to share ideas with, through the varied nature of work we undertake for clients in the mining and resources, energy and property/general infrastructure sectors across Australia and globally.

You will have the opportunity to challenge yourself and fellow professionals through the works we undertake covering civil and geotechnical site investigation, materials test planning, laboratory testing, modelling, engineering analyses and design, construction, field inspections and tailings life cycle management (from concept to closure).

You will be given the opportunity to work in both specialised and multidisciplinary teams for complex projects locally, nationally and globally to ensure growth. We will tailor work to your level experience and desire to progress your career.

Key responsibilities and activities include:

• Uncompromising commitment to safety in all aspects of your work including Safety in Design and promoting safety culture.

• Developing scope of work and costing at proposal stage for various projects

• Undertaking geotechnical investigations including site work, laboratory and desktop investigations and prepare reports.

• Using your field experience in investigation and design to contribute to multidisciplinary projects.

• Providing technical input in design and documentation.

• Preparing technical documents and managing all project correspondence to ensure project success.

• Support progress at all stages of project delivery.

• Developing engineering and practical solutions using fundamental engineering principles to add value.

• Ensuring that the projects are completed to required standards.

• Maintaining good relationships with clients and work with relevant leaders to develop new opportunities.

• Knowledge sharing, mentoring junior staff and working collaboratively with local and global teams.

• You will be encouraged and supported to prepare research results for presentations in technical communities.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill requirements include:

• Qualifications in civil/geotechnical or tailings engineering.

• Significant experience (minimum 10 years) of specialisation and demonstrated experience in tailings/geotechnical engineering practice.

• Experience working in mining and resources sectors especially local WA and Australian market.

• Good knowledge of tailings engineering including field investigations, design and documentation, construction, and/or operational inspections, etc.

• Demonstrated experience in the preparation of technical reports and client liaison.

• A strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Ability to apply technical knowledge of geosciences and geo-engineering to solve practical problems.

• High level of analytical skills and ability to translate complex ideas into simple solutions.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

• Effective stakeholder management.
