We are assisting our client to find a Senior Hardware Engineer who is experienced in audio & video communication development to join their team.
You will work in West End for the Australian division of this well-established multinational electronics company which specialises in providing innovative solutions in communication security.
The Role:
You will be responsible for the daily activities that support the design and certification of hardware for their electronic products, whilst providing support to all other arms of the business in matters relating to hardware engineering.
You will be responsible for:
- Gathers and prepares requirements for hardware products
- Responsible for electronic design for projects set up by business objectives
- Prepare schematics, printed circuit board layouts and 3D mechanical models, BOM creation, prototype bring up and testing
- Designs test equipment for product validation and testing
- Pre-compliance EMC/EMI testing and organising formal tests
- Participates in activities related to a Job Card request for R&D, Testing, and Sales Requests
- Works closely with the production team to ensure product and documentation quality
- Risk assessment and mitigation
- Document control and maintenance for R&D, and Product & Systems
Successful applicants for the Senior Hardware Engineer role will be:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Diploma, Bachelor/Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering or experience to the equivalent
- Knowledgeable on hardware development and computer operating systems
- Effectively coordinates priorities with a high degree of autonomy, sound judgement and decision making skills
- Audio and video communication development
- PCBA assembly and rework
- Quality conscious, knowledge of ISO-9001 an advantage
- Computer literate- MS Office suite, Adobe
- Experience in Electronics Hardware Design Engineering
- Experience with EDA and CAD tools
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proven negotiation and influencing skills (both internal and external)
- Ability to handle competing priorities
