Graduate Engineer

Jellinbah Mine is an open cut coal mine located near the townships of Blackwater and Bluff in Central Queensland, two hours by road to the regional city of Rockhampton and coastal communities of the Capricorn Coast.

As a Graduate Engineer, you'll launch your career at one of the most highly regarded mines within the CQ area.  You will gain exposure to all aspects of the mining process at Jellinbah, with an emphasis on short term scheduling and design, drill and blast, survey, geology, coal quality, environmental monitoring and compliance, and operational roles.

Specific Position Requirements:

• Assist the Mining Engineers to complete engineering tasks such as short term plans, mine design, production plans, and reporting;
• Track daily, weekly and monthly production and compliance to plan;
• Assist the Coal Quality function to maximise bypass coal and ensure the coal chain has sufficient stocks;
• Support of survey and environmental management functions;
• Assist with other business improvement projects; and
• Step up into front line engineering roles as required.

Critical to your development as a mining professional will be collaborating with other departments and understanding how they relate to the Technical Services team.

About you

The successful candidate will have:-

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering or science
• Proficiency with mine design and scheduling software or CAD/GIS exposure.
• Proficiency in the MS-Office suite of software programs
• Current QLD Driver’s License
• Ability to pass a CMSHR1 Assessment & Pre-Employment Medical 
• Proof of Australian working entitlement (e.g. Birth Certificate, Passport or Citizenship Certificate)
