This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (pro-rata part-time/temporary positions less than 18 months), and a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (pro-rata part time), under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.
Packages may consist of family and compassionate travel assistance, an upfront Rural Recruitment Cash Bonus upon appointment, contributions to professional development, utility reimbursements and study assistance, in addition to relocation benefits and accommodation assistance.
To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

The Senior Social Worker in the Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) Social Work Department has extensive specialist knowledge and a high level of broad generalist knowledge. They provide counselling,
therapeutic interventions, trauma informed, and solution focussed interventions, while using both brief and crisis intervention models.
In this role you will use your experience to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills and be able to operate autonomously with minimal supervision. You are a specialist in Guardianship, complex social issues, and service provisions within the FWLHD and will be involved with the planning implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services and the implementation of FWLHD Social Work Department protocols, initiatives, policies, and procedures.

- A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical experience in a range of social work fields with preferred experience in a healthcare setting, along with a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
- Demonstrated high level of communication skills in negotiation, decision making and advocacy; including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and prioritise a caseload and work expectations within agreed time frames.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a senior clinician to work autonomously and exercising independent professional judgement with minimal supervision. Previous experience or extensive knowledge in working with clients that have complex psychosocial issues living in a rural community.
- Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in delivering service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Current driver’s licence to drive in NSW.
