About the role
Our Perth buildings group are seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our busy and friendly Perth Hydraulic team. We are looking for someone with sound experience in Hydraulic consulting design in the building services sector, along with networking and marketing capabilities.
We are looking for someone who is able to work independently on a wide range of projects with an ability to manage workload and support teams on several projects at any given time. The successful candidate will be motivated to create success in the business development and work winning space and will have strong technical and project management capabilities. You will be expected to regularly attend client facing meetings, industry events and will have exceptional consulting skills.

Day to day tasks would involve:
Client interactions, prepare fee submissions, build industry networks and actively pursue new work opportunities
Responsible for planning and managing projects and team members from initial planning, concept and brief, through to installation and commissioning
Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery
Interfacing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies, network utility operators and commercial companies
Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships to generate repeat business
Work closely and develop trusted relationships with other project stakeholders, notably architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions with a high-quality outcome
Provide mentoring and training to develop less experienced hydraulic Engineers
Manage hydraulic designs in accordance with code and company quality standards
Undertaking Hydraulic engineering assessment and calculations for the detailed design of hot and cold water systems, sanitary and trade waste systems, stormwater/roof drainage and gas systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bring value to in-house design/project meetings
Provide positive contributions to our team culture
Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
To be successful for this role you'll need:
A relevant Engineering degree (eg Mechanical, Chemical) or Plumbing trade background
8 years mechanical (HVAC) consulting engineering experience in the Building services industry
Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
Working knowledge of Revit and other software
Experience in planning and managing projects
Willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to generate repeat opportunities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
A willingness to learn and adhere to Stantec's professional & ethics standards and quality procedures
