Senior ICT Project Managers play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape for the Australian Parliament by managing complex ICT projects and ensuring their successful delivery. The successful candidate will utilise expert knowledge across a range of technical ICT disciplines to develop and maintain project plans, manage project resources, and ensure effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders. Who we are looking forThe ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, capable of driving digital transformation in a complex environment with a proven track record in managing large-scale ICT projects and/or programs, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that enhance organisational performance.You will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving project/program objectives. Your expertise in project management methodologies, coupled with your experience in stakeholder engagement, will be crucial in successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
Job Specific Requirements:- 5+ years of project management experience, including tracking and planning complex projects and/or programs.
- Experience and/or certifications in project/program management methodologies i.e. PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the practical application of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and contract management.
- Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management.
- Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Project, SharePoint online etc
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

Immediate supervisor: Assistant SecretaryUnder limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 2 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Effectively plan and drive the delivery of complex and/or large ICT projects/programs that support Australian Parliament House (APH) and its occupants.
- Effectively manage competing priorities to ensure project outcomes are aligned to the Australian Parliament Digital Strategy.
- Develop and maintain quality project management artefacts in adherence to the endorsed project management framework and departmental standards.
- Actively monitor, track, and control outputs to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
- Procure and actively manage resources to achieve project/program objectives in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
- Provide on-site leadership for project/program teams by building and motivating team members to meet project/program goals, while adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Participate in and/or drive vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.
- Accurately report on project/program progress including prompt identification and escalation of risks and issues with recommended mitigation/treatment strategies.
- Regularly review and actively manage performance of internal and external personnel.
- Effectively and proactively liaise, communicate, and negotiate with other areas of DPS, other parliamentary departments and APS agencies as required.

Conditions of EmploymentEmployment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
- Australian citizenship - to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- Security clearance and character clearance - the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
- Health assessment - a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
