Our Company:
We are a Quarry that produces high-quality sand for the construction industry. The company is based 120km’s west of Brisbane. The quarry has a strong growth trajectory with large investment in infrastructure.
The Position:
This position will be part of the main board that will advise shareholders on strategy, innovation and growth of the business. Entrepreneurial and innovative ability is key to delivering what is required to succeed.
This is an industry highly reliant on machinery and to convert raw product into engineered sand. The position requires an experienced business manager who is an engineer, with the vision to expand the company by increasing tonnage as optimally, safety and cost effectively as possible. Preservation of the environment is a high priority.
Design and implementation of the processing plant is key, to the extent that we are able to quickly and cost effectively commission both used and new equipment to increase production output and to streamline current process flows. Automation is critical and a high degree of innovation is needed to be able to meet these targets.
Global travel will be required to source equipment that is the best and most cost-effective fit for purpose.
Autonomy to work independently will be given. Management of the consultants and contractors to ensure successful pant commissioning from inception to processing is required.

Key responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing efficient processes to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Process mapping and process improvements.
Ensuring compliance with OH&S.
Capital project delivery.
Overseeing all aspects of new and used equipment installation and compliance.
Achieve production targets by optimizing production processes, equipment utilization and resource allocation.
Quality control system to ensure final product consistently meets specification.
Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in both management and Process Engineering fields. You will be a problem solver who is always looking for a better way to do things and knows how to apply innovation solutions to problems. You will believe in the power of technology and harnessing it to do things faster-cheaper-better. You will be a strong ‘first principles thinker’ who can engage with technical subjects across a range of disciplines.
You will ideally have the following experience:
Engineering degree in mechanical engineering.
Strong Process Engineering experience (including major capital projects).
Strong Lean experience (driving the change, not just relying on consultants).
Must be prepared to work on site as required.
Must be prepared to travel globally to source equipment and engage with global equipment suppliers.
