What You Will Be Doing
The Senior Pharmacist - Infectious Diseases & Antimicrobial Stewardship role will have a clinical, educational and research focus. It will be responsible for managing and leading the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) program providing advanced pharmaceutical advice relating to antimicrobial use to stakeholders at Peninsula Health.
You will be responsible for the leadership and operational management of the AMS team in collaboration with the Infectious Diseases (ID) Physicians. This position works in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including Medical, Pharmacy, Nursing and other health professionals, to provide drug information and promote rational drug therapy.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Full Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA) registration with no restrictions to the scope of practice, or an appropriate pharmaceutical qualification eligible for the registration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Stewardship sections of Standard 3 of the National Standards for Quality and Safety in Healthcare and Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Care Standard.
- Demonstrated advanced experience in clinical pharmacy and therapeutics including recent broad range of hospital clinical pharmacy experience.
- Demonstrated advanced level of leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills both within and between healthcare disciplines including the ability to consult, negotiate and resolve conflict.
- Have experience with using electronic medication management, preferably Cerner trained.

Scientists, Pharmacists and Psychologists) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
