ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Information Release & Litigation Management team to provide assistance and support with the management and release of information to external agencies in accordance with legislation, including under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and the management of legal cases involving the Department of Justice.
The successful applicant will:
- Provide assistance and support to the Team Leader, Information Release and Litigation Management on the management and release of information to external parties.
- Assist in the management of legal cases and court actions, consult with the State Solicitor’s Office and Panel Law Firms on matters requiring legal representation and liaise with Riskcover where required.
- Maintain the Department’s register of cases.
- Process requests for information from external parties in accordance with legislation, Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements, processes responses to Summons/Subpoena, Orders to Produce, and all other orders for production of records and documents.
- Process applications for document requests under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 including the decision making process.
- Assist in the development of policies and processes in relation to the release of information and documents to external stake holders.
- Other duties as required in accordance with strategic objectives, business plans, local workload priorities and performance management plans.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however an appointment is not guaranteed.
