Seeking an experienced Release of Information officer to join a large state government departmen in Perth CBD

Our client is a large State Government department located in Perth CBD.

Your new role
The Corporate Services Division of the Information & Technology Directorate, requires the services of 3 Senior Release of Information Officers for a period of 3–6 months on a temporary basis. Your role will include, but is not limited to the following:
- Provide assistance and support to the Team Leader on the management and Release of Information to external parties.
- Assist in the management of legal cases and court actions, consults with legal teams and departments on matters requiring legal representation
- Process requests for information from external parties in accordance with legislation, Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements; processes responses to Summons/Subpoena, Orders to Produce, and all other orders for the production of records and documents.
- Manage legal and damages claims
- Process applications for document requests under the Freedom of Information Act 1992, including the decision-making process.
- Assist in the development of policies and processes in relation to the Release of Information and documents to external stakeholders.
- Other duties as required in accordance with strategic objectives, business plans, local workload priorities and performance management plans.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous legal experience would be desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
The ability to understand the department's objectives and agenda, as well as identify any areas for improvement
