The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our Myaree office.
The candidate will use their extensive experience and technical knowledge to perform I&C design deliverables and schedule I&C activities on projects. You will also have the leadership skills to supervise small teams of engineers and designers and may act as Project Representative for the Discipline with vendors and clients.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Review and understand the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and inter-discipline requirements.
- Perform Selection and screening, Conceptual, PFS, FS engineering and detailed design as per project specifications, design codes and standards.
- Plan, organize and direct all aspects of Discipline engineering execution on the assigned project including scope, deliverables, schedule and manpower resources allocations.
- Ensure interfaces and deliverables are clearly identified. Maintain responsibility for progress and timely completion of design deliverables and activities.
- Act as representative for the discipline at internal and external meetings.
- Review the drawings and documents prepared by other engineers and designers.
- Provide procurement engineering support including preparing and reviewing requisitions, technical bid evaluations (TBEs) and technical queries (TQs).
- Participate in technical audits on engineering deliverables and vendor /client documents.
- Guide less experienced engineers on standards, worksheets, design calculations, software, requisitions, TBEs, TQs, etc.
- Ensure communication flow, both verbal and written, is maintained within the organisation (Carnac) or project and with other engineering disciplines.
- Keep the Project and concerned parties apprised of all activities, deliverables progress and concerns.
- Maintain, monitor and promote quality control of I&C deliverables/output.
The expertise and experience you'll bring to the role includes:
- 10+ years’ experience in Instrumentation and Control Engineering with a major EPC or Consultant predominantly in Mineral processing, Mining, Oil & Gas Projects.
- Chartered Engineering status from Engineers Australia is an advantage.
- TÜV Certified Functional Safety Professional or Expert status is preferred.
- Experience as I&C engineer in designing Mineral processing, Chemical Refineries, Oil & Gas Projects and Process plants is preferred.
- Experience in Datasheets, Selection and Sizing of various instrumentation (Pressure, Flow, Level, Temperature), Analysers, Actuated Valves, ESD Valves, Control Valves, Relief Valves, Angle Valves and Control Systems are mandatory.
- Experience with specifying and designing DCS and process control systems.
- In depth understanding of Instrumentation used in Hazardous areas
- Knowledge of electrical systems for Instrumentation that includes cabling, tray, wiring methods and grounding.
- Experience in interface with control and electrical systems as part of pre-commissioning/ Commissioning.
