The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Land Access Advisor to join us in our Access and Approvals team in Brisbane or Melbourne on a full time permanent basis. The role is primarily office based, but does include some travel for consultation and compliance assurance activities.

Reporting to the Manager Access and Approvals, you will play a key role in undertaking the processes required to enable APA Group to plan and secure regulatory, environmental and cultural approvals and gain tenure for its pipelines and energy projects. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a team to plan projects, identify and gain all approvals required and advising on schedule, budget and key risks and mitigations during development and delivery.
  • Identify and liaise with relevant stakeholders to negotiate structured agreement and option documents, and secure tenure for APA projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to proactively manage issues, concerns, and disputes effectively, build trust and respect, and anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs.
  • Appoint and manage external consultants through the preparation of scope and deliverables for packages of work where required and manage their performance
  • Maintain compliance with statutory and legal processes, systems and assurance processes for land records, established Land Access rules for established properties, and ensure that all field activities adhere to the project HSE management plan and broader APA policy, to ensure that best practices are being followed

Your background 

  • Experience in the delivery of Land Access, management and/or approvals in the Energy or similar industry
  • Ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively across the organisation and externally; by building and developing relationships based on trust, integrity, and credibility
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, along with strong attention to detail
  • Well-developed verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work in an organised, safe and efficient manner, while working in accordance with policies and procedures applicable to functional responsibilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and able to prioritise workloads, including working under pressure to meet targets and deadlines
  • Understanding of key Project Management principles

About the Team

The team has a diverse range of skills and experiences and collaboratively work to progress projects through development and delivery. Consistent with our purpose to strengthen communities through responsible energy, our team works with the broader project teams to develop project plans and alignments and works with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to coordinate all access and approvals aspects of the projects.
