The opportunity
As a Senior Scientist you will have an important role in driving current and future stages of development of the portfolio of works across the Land Restoration team, assisting in expanding and maintaining existing clients, sponsors, and stakeholders and identifying new business opportunities. The Land Restoration team deliver strategic on-ground projects to improve the condition of South East Queensland’s environment through revegetation, weed control and erosion control activities. This is a full-time role offered as a 24-month contract initially.
Your responsibilities will include…
- Delivering scientific project management solutions through application of knowledge and expertise across all programs and projects
- Delivering specific and complex work packages as per client requirements
- Contributing to high-quality interpretative and technical report production and review
- Collaborating with other science, project, and professional teams across the organisation
- Networking and influencing internally and externally, including providing representation on committees and working groups
- Managing delivery of Land Restoration programs for clients including Seqwater and Department of Environment and Science
- Supporting the delivery of other Land Restoration programs
About You
Ideally, you will share our vision to lead the change that will deliver an environment for future generations to thrive. You will be highly motivated and can work autonomously in agreed timeframes. To be successful in this role, you will have all or many of the following requirements:
- A Project or Environment Degree in a relevant discipline and applied practical experience and technical expertise
- High level stakeholder engagement skills, across government, research, First Nations and the community
- The ability to inspire and motivate team members and communities of practices across Queensland
- A current manual QLD driving licence
