Our Group's over 3000 team members across the East Coast, consistently strive to make a difference in the communities we serve.About the roleWe are seeking an experienced and energetic Senior Lands Management Officer (LMO) to join our team. Based in Brisbane, the role will be responsible for managing land tenure arrangements for gas infrastructure in the eastern states of Australia. Your focus will be on high pressure gas AS2885 pipelines across Jemena's assets in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, as well as on Jemena's electricity assets in Victoria.The Senior LMO performs negotiations and delivers documentation relating to easements, leases, licences, land crossing agreements, purchases, and divestments. The role drives the landholder and stakeholder engagement on operational AS2885 assets. This includes negotiating agreements and tenure requirements for third party activities occurring near our assets. You will also undertake the associated transactions, queries, advice and administration in accordance with Jemena values, policies and procedures. The role provides support to the Lands Manager with respect to strategic and management matters relating to land management systems, processes and other deliverables.Key Responsibilities include
  • Provide strategic advice and input into Jemena's operational land portfolio across its energy assets
  • Maintain strong internal relationships with commercial, engineering, legal and field teams to support the delivery of complex, high profile projects
  • Implement, negotiate and execute access arrangements with utilities, land and property owners, pipeline operators and asset owners
  • Manage delivery of land and tenure commitments to third parties including native title, cultural heritage and land council groups
  • Develop and deliver strategies to facilitate the acquisition and management of secure tenure (easement, leasehold, freehold, other) for Jemena assets
  • Drive positive and respectful engagement with a diverse group of landholders and stakeholders
  • Provide support and guidance within the Lands team around commercial and risk aspects of agreement negotiation
  • Draft and review land tenure documentation for assets and organise execution of documents by third parties as required
  • Manage and control high risk known and potential encroachments through enforcement of land and regulatory rights
  • Support Jemena land access, easement and property works to ensure conformance to tenure rights and relevant legislation
About YouTo set yourself up for success in Jemena, you arise from a similar role in a comparable industry, as well as the following:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with considerable experience in contract negotiation, property acquisition, leasing, easements etc across Victoria, New South Wales or Queensland
  • Possess an understanding of technical, financial and commercial risks in relation to Lands Management
  • Exposure to the utilities or energy sector (highly desirable)
