Job description

About the roleIn this role, you will play an integral part in planning, developing, and implementing public realm projects, including but not limited to public realm master plans, guidelines, and streetscape and laneway upgrades. You will also provide high-quality technical design advice to ensure strategic, creative, and spatial design thinking is present in all public realm design projects across the city.
Work type: Permanent full timeClassification: Band 7 $100,064-$110,990 plus super
Key responsibilities include:
Develop integrated and innovative public realm projects, from concept through to implementation, on a wide range of precinct, transport, and city-related projects.
Provide timely and effective design services and advice to internal and external stakeholders and clients on Landscape Architectural matters including project design and design advice.
Manage projects, including developing project briefs and plans with appropriate details for objectives, scope, budgets/costs, communications, program, procurement, quality control, and resourcing.
Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to support overall strategic design objectives and provide advice/advocacy to improve and sustain a high-quality public realm.
About youTo be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture and at least six years of demonstrated experience in designing and delivering public realm projects.
Essential Experience:
Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in all phases of the design process.
Highly developed analytical, lateral thinking and problem-solving design skills.
Proven ability to manage project teams, including external consultants and contractors, ensuring a high level of performance.
High level of oral, written, and graphic communication skills (using computer aided drafting and desktop publishing) and the ability to convey and effectively impart project information and negotiate and influence outcomes.
Be a registered Landscape Architect or working toward becoming registered.
