- Salary based on experience, range: $97,922 - $122,400 plus super
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH /office model
We are seeking a Senior Lawyer to join our Broadmeadows team in providing high quality legal services to clients across the North-western Suburbs.
Reporting to the Deputy Managing Lawyer, you will act as an advocate by providing high quality legal services through managing complex case work and appearing in court, coordinating the delivery of duty lawyer services, developing and implementing strategies, policies and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and leading community legal education projects, reform and other VLA projects as required.
This role also requires the supervision and mentoring of staff within criminal law and family violence intervention order matters through providing best practice advice and identifying developmental opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for lawyers looking to give back to the Victorian community and build strong ties to local stakeholders.
About you:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Extensive criminal law knowledge, specializing in complex litigation, and utilizing therapeutic and problem-solving approaches in the criminal justice system.
- Effective communication when engaging with diverse groups from disadvantaged members of the community to internal staff.
- Strong interest and capability in providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members in enhancing their skills and knowledge.
- A current Australian practicing certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
