Your role
We are looking for an experienced and energetic Senior Lawyer to join our Energy and Resources team in Perth to predominantly support Jodi Reinmuth and Jacqui Rowell. Jodi and Jacqui specialise in mining, oil and gas and energy, and advise on the some of the most complex and high-profile transactions in the market. For example, they have both led market leading transactions for Rio Tinto, Woodside, Equinor and EDL.
Applicants should have extensive transactional experience (acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures or other project structuring / project development transactions). Experience in the mining, oil and gas and energy sectors is preferred, but we encourage other lawyers with transactional experience to apply.
While the role is primarily to support Jodi and Jacqui, the projects team works collaboratively, so each team member can expect to get exposure to a diverse range of clients and work. In addition to delivering client work on strategically significant projects and market-leading transactions, our team also works with us to identify and win new work opportunities.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity however we also support a hybrid working model, where working from home, and the office, is part of our norm.
About you
You will have:

• Experience advising on a broad range of commercial, project development / project structuring, and M&A transactions in the mining, oil and gas or energy sectors at a well-regarded international or Australian, including a boutique, firm. Please apply even if sectorial experience is limited.
• Well-developed analytical and written and oral communications skills.
• A strong team ethic - this aspect of our culture is of key importance to us.
• A willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences and networks.
• An interest in building an understanding of clients and developing effective working relationships with clients.
• A willingness to participate in business development activities, such as pitch documents, firm-wide pursuits, attending industry events and hosting seminars.
