Job description

Wood has an immediate requirement for a Senior / Lead Advisor to join our global Digital Advisory team, to be located in Australia, in either the Perth or Brisbane office. The successful candidate will join an assembly of global talent that is shaping successful digital and strategic transformation in a practical, tangible way.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will support Digital Advisory to secure, manage and deliver innovation, strategy and business transformation scopes, collaborating as a seller-doer with the Growth & Development function and adjacent Consulting business units. 
  • You will typically advise within a client project team of 4-8 business, digital and deep domain experts focusing developing a clear understanding of the client problem, formulating an agile and inclusive execution approach, and rapid and sustained value delivery in asset management, digitalization, decarbonization, automation and organizational transformation. 
  • Primary project scopes may include feasibility and proof-of-concept studies, digital strategy development, business process updates and organizational design, improvement programs, gap analyses and strategic roadmaps, implementation project/program plan development, project/program management of pull-through execution scopes, adoption and sustainment support. 
  • You will be familiar with the Accelerate^ framework and be confident to deliver digital strategies utilising this tool kit 
  • You will contribute to the operationalization of Wood’s client-facing innovation function, established for the development of innovative digital solutions, including co-creation of solution with clients within Digital Advisory & working closely with Intelligent Asset Solutions. 
  • You will have Customer Success as your key driver, and actively seeking pull-through  opportunities to deliver more client value and grow the opportunity for Wood 
  • You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results. 
  • In a collaborative team setting, you'll work closely with others but also autonomously with direction 
  • Your superior analytical, conceptual, business and  design thinking skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure successful client projects and team performance. 
  • Client project work typically includes gathering and analysing information, formulating, and testing hypotheses, valuing and developing recommendations for presentation to senior client management and other key stakeholders at multiple levels. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members. 

QUALIFICATIONS

It takes a diverse range of people to achieve the level of impact Wood has on the global energy and materials sectors and the energy transition and decarbonization drives therein. As a member of the team you will demonstrate:  

  • Engineering or related professional degree with consistent outstanding academic record; advanced degree and MBA is advantageous 
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the energy, materials and decarbonization sectors  
  • Previous advisory or consulting experience, including change management advisory and implementation 
  • Deep expertise in the energy and minerals industries as well as solid functional knowledge including but not limited to digital transformation, strategy, business development, energy, supply chain, project management, marketing and sales, etc. 
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills 
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach in a team environment 
  • Ability to take initiative, break new ground, create opportunities and take risks  
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization 
  • Networked, with a demonstrated portfolio of industry business relationships 
  • Ability to leverage those industry relationships to develop and secure business for the team and pull-through business for adjacent teams 
  • An expert communicator, with a high degree of emotional intelligence and influencing skills 
  • Advanced practitioner of Agile project delivery methodologies in an Advisory or Consultancy context. 
  • Advanced practitioner of the Accelerate^ framework for delivery of digital strategies
