About the team
Holding Redlich has one of the leading national property practices in Australia and within the practice have a busy leasing practice based in Melbourne. 
  
With a client list that includes some of Australia’s largest property funds and institutional landlords this opportunity arises at a time when our team in Melbourne is recognised as one of the pre-eminent leasing practices in the country.
  
About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Leasing Paralegal to join our Melbourne property team to assist in the management of our busy leasing practice.
  
Within the team you will work alongside a number of other paralegals and you will be running leasing matters from instruction through to completion.
  
To be successful in the role you will need:
  • a minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a busy leasing practice;
  • experience in both retail and commercial leasing is essential;
  • experience in industrial leasing is desirable;
  • excellent legal drafting skills using plain English including drafting core lease documents, special conditions and amendments;
  • to work autonomously from the start to the end of a lease transaction;
  • to negotiate and advise on amendments with tenant’s lawyer with limited supervision;
  • to attend to registration of documents;
  • a working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Retail Leases Act Vic (2003);
  • experience using shared client portals including inputting of information and document management;
  • have day-to-day management of your own matters as well as supervising and assisting the paralegals in the team.
We are open to bringing onboard an experienced lawyer as an alternative to a paralegal.
  
About you
Given the level of experience required in this role you must possess a wealth of experience in leasing and in managing client relationships. Whilst our partner oversees the practice it is the intention that you will play a leading role in managing the team and as an escalation point to the junior members of the team. You will therefore be comfortable in mentoring and managing others.
  
You will also have strong attention to detail, a real enthusiasm for your work and love being part of a team.
  
You may have gained your experience in private practice or at a property fund with a large leasing portfolio.
