ABOUT THE ROLE
The National School of Education is seeking an exceptional Primary Teacher Education academic and researcher to join its team on the Fremantle campus. The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Education programs as well as postgraduate professional learning programs for educators. The School is also active in research and supervises students completing Masters and Doctoral degrees by research.
The successful candidate will be a highly effective and experienced academic with a background in primary school teaching in Australia, who wholeheartedly supports the Objects of the university in their work. Experience in a Program Director/Coordinator role would be highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and studio sessions.
- Initiate and development of course material.
- Course coordination and preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars.
- Supervise the program of study of honours students and postgraduate students and the supervision major honours or postgraduate research projects.
- Collaborate with other academic staff and build relationship to ensure consistency and quality in programs.
ABOUT YOU
- Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
- Hold advanced qualifications and/or recognised significant experience in a relevant discipline area.
- Possession of a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing.
- Current teacher registration.
- Hold current teaching and research experience.
- In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard will be had to teaching experience, experience in research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional.
- Contributions and/or technical achievement in teaching areas.
- Demonstrated experience in scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area.
