As they continue to grow and expand the operations, they are seeking a talented Senior Legal & Compliance Officer to join the team and lead their efforts in ensuring legal and regulatory adherence across all aspects of our business.
The Role
As the Senior Legal & Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all legal and compliance matters within the organisation. Reporting directly to the Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to management and employees on a wide range of legal matters, including contract negotiations, intellectual property, employment law, and corporate governance.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory agencies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review and approve business initiatives, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Stay informed of changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization and advise management on necessary actions.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on legal and compliance matters and promote a culture of ethics and integrity.
- Bachelor's degree in Law and hold a current QLD practicing certificate.
- Additionally, you will have a few years of Post Admission Experience either in-house or in practice.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
- Proven experience developing and implementing compliance programs and policies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
