The Senior Legal Counsel will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal excellence and compliance within the client's dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position involves close collaboration with key decision-makers and stakeholders to provide expert legal advice, manage contractual negotiations, and navigate regulatory landscapes in support of the client's Energy Trading activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory:

• Provide comprehensive legal guidance on Energy Trading activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Advise on complex legal issues related to energy contracts, transactions, and regulatory matters.

Contract Negotiation:

• Lead and oversee the negotiation and drafting of Energy Trading contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts align with business objectives and mitigate legal risks.

Compliance Management:

• Monitor and assess regulatory developments in the energy sector to ensure proactive compliance.
• Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and training initiatives.

Strategic Planning:

• Contribute to the development of legal strategies aligned with business goals.
• Provide strategic insights on potential risks and opportunities in Energy Trading ventures.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate legal considerations into business initiatives.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and guide legal team members in achieving departmental objectives.

Qualifications:

• Qualified solicitor with 7 years of post-qualification experience in energy law, trading, and compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
• Proven experience in negotiating and drafting complex Energy Trading contracts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
