Reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel, you will be instrumental in supporting our objectives by delivering high-quality, strategic, and cost-effective legal services. Your role will directly contribute to the successful delivery of homes and communities, iconic precincts, and recreational facilities that will make a difference to Victorians for generations to come.
Core Responsibilities
- Establish trusted business partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, offering advice throughout project lifecycles.
- Advise on legal documentation for project delivery, ensuring alignment with Development Victoria’s objectives and State Government policy requirements.
- Identify and escalate areas of legal and compliance risk to senior management.
- Manage external legal services, ensuring alignment with project objectives and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory developments, informing the organization through policies, guidelines, and training.
- Develop systems, precedents, and policies to enhance cost-effectiveness and reduce legal risk.
- Provide mentoring and leadership to support the growth of capability within the Legal team and broader organisation.
- Provide ad hoc advice on various governance and compliance matters and advise on matters relating to Development Victoria’s risk appetite.
