Job DescriptionOur legal team provides commercially focused legal support across the operational and functional divisions of the Pact business on a broad range of subject matters.
Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, your role sits within the group structure and as such is part of a legal team with a global remit.
You will partner closely with all areas of our business and external advisors.
Your key responsibilities will be to support and advise in the following areas;
- Commercial Contracting
- General legal advice
- Dispute resolution
- Regulatory support and advice
- Project and M&A
- Legal continuous improvement
Your skills and experience
- Prior experience operating at a similar level of general commercial law in a private practice or in-house environment.
- Experience in FMCG, property, competition, dispute resolution, IP, OHS, HR/IR or IT would be advantageous but not essential.
- Proven history successfully advising on legal matters in New Zealand and/or Asia would be advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication, with ability to adjust style appropriate to the audience.
- Ability to quickly form working relationships and gain credibility with senior management.
- Ability to work autonomously and with the support of other members of the legal team as required.
- Understanding and ability to appreciate the strategic and commercial implications of decisions and the impact on the business.
- Innovative, enthusiastic, and versatile with a proactive ‘problem-solving’ approach to practice.
- Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential requirements.
- Tertiary qualifications in law
- Current Australian or New Zealand practising certificate
- Approximately 7+ years PQE
