Fairfield Hospital is recruiting for a Senior Clinical Hand Therapist to complement and enhance the current South Western Sydney Hand Centre. The SWSLHD Hand Centre multidisciplinary clinical team delivers a high volume, acute / trauma Hand Service in a collocated clinic environment. The Hand therapy team services the clients across the district with some outreach therapy offered onsite at Campbelltown.What You'll be Doing
The senior Hand Therapist provides clinical governance, leadership and expertise within the SWSLHD Hand Clinic including the provision of safe, timely compassionate and high quality person centered care. This position is responsible for service development and evaluation and advanced clinical reasoning and clinical practice skills in the management of clients of a novel and complex nature. This position is responsible for the supervision, teaching and training of Level 1/ 2 physiotherapists, allied health assistants and students.Where You'll Be Working

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible. View our for information on how to respond to criteria and . * Current Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated high level clinical expertise and knowledge with experience in hand therapy assessment and treatment, including the management of novel and complex presentations, static/dynamic splinting and wound / scar management
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and clinical education of students
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality improvement, evidence based practice, research and service development activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
- Demonstrated ability to apply independent professional judgment whilst working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated high level organisation and time management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing development in the area of Hand Therapy eg Australian Hand Therapy association full membership / Certified Hand Therapist Qualification / relevant post- graduate qualification or demonstrated willingness to undertake further qualification in Hand Therapy
- Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
