* Ongoing, full time (shift work (24/7 including nights and weekends)
* VPS4 salary of $92,332 to $104,762 plus superannuation
What does the business unit do?
Emergency Management, within the Department of Justice and Community Safety works closely with government and agencies across the emergency management portfolio. The group is led by the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management. Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities and statutory entities and offices.
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).
The purpose of the Operations Branch is to lead the emergency operational coordination and state operations in Victoria by working with communities, government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
What will the Senior Logistics Officer do?
* Coordinate the logistics function within the State Control Centre (SCC).
* Ensure SCC Logistics processes are fully documented and undertake quality assurance to ensure documentation, processes and outputs remain contemporary.
* Oversee procurement processes and the financial documentation requirements associated with emergency management activities.
The role works on a rostered basis and the successful candidates will be required to work outside normal business hours and on weekends.
What skills and knowledge should a Senior Logistics Officer have?
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
* Knowledge of state-wide arrangements and procedures for the logistical movement of resources, facilities, material and services including within the emergency management sector.
* Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
* Demonstrated ability to arrange, register and monitor deployed equipment, materials and supplies.
