We are seeking an engaging and safety focused Senior Maintenance Planner to lead a team of planners/scheduler who ultimately be accountable for safely maintaining our assets across diverse business facets, through effective preparation and delivery of maintenance planning and scheduling.

Your demonstrated ability to engage, connect and positively influence your stakeholders and cross-functional site teams will prove valuable to the effectiveness of this role. You will collaborate with site teams to provide efficient maintenance planning and productivity solutions and ensuring best practice work management processes are understood and adhered to. 

This position reports directly to the Planning and Engineering Manager and involves both centralized planning tasks and on-site deployments to various locations as operational needs require. The successful candidate will possess expertise in maintenance planning, with specific proficiency in both Pronto and SAP.

Reporting To: Planning and Engineering Manager

Location: On-site Deployments

Roster: 8:6 (with flexibility essential)

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintenance Planning:

  • Develop comprehensive maintenance plans for weekly baseload maintenance and shutdowns, ensuring alignment with operational goals and compliance with safety standards.
  • Tracking and Reporting on Notifications, Work Orders and Completion Rates
  • Working closely with the Engineering and Execution teams to ensure Strategies are correct.
  • Define and implement Work Management Process that best suits operating philosophy 

Software Expertise:

  • Utilize expertise in both Pronto and SAP to efficiently manage and update maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment records. 

Deployment and Coordination:

  • Effectively deploy to on-site locations as required, collaborating with site teams to assess maintenance needs and ensure the successful execution of planned activities. 

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, operations, and procurement, to coordinate resources, materials, and equipment for planned maintenance activities. 

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks associated with maintenance plans and develop contingency strategies to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.
  • Lead RCA work management data collection processes for required major equipment failures or related improvement opportunity. 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to enhance maintenance planning processes and efficiency.
  • Actively identifying and carrying out master data and improvement initiatives in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Build yourself as the business grows.  

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to maintenance plans, work orders, and equipment history. 

Training and Knowledge Transfer:

  • Understand and coach planning best practices.
  • Provide training and support to planners and operational staff, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of work management processes.

Leadership:

  • Take the team on a journey with you. 
  • Build your skills and your team's expertise as the business grows.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach.
  • Adaptable to the clients' requirements and lead the team of planners to be equally adaptable to the clients' requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Qualifications in Maintenance Management, or Trade Certificate in related field.
  • Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance planning, with a focus on weekly baseload maintenance and shutdowns.
  • Proven process development and implementation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer-based maintenance planning systems (e.g Pronto, SAP) and preventative, predictive and reliability centered maintenance principles. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in meeting targets and bringing the team on a journey of continuous development.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving abilities to deliver solutions across an operation.
  • A National Police Clearance within 6 months validity or ability to obtain one.
